Yo! Just finished Supanova, where I got to sell my art and interact with lots of cool people. It's given me better insight as well what people really gravitate to in my art, so that's been good for feedback going forward.
As a general heads up for the new year, I have a couple things planned. My main aim is to finish off any outstanding projects I currently have so as to start afresh come 2024. I just personally feel that my style and process can be greatly improved, and I want to chiefly focus on that. Certain areas of my art have gotten stale to me, and I want to freshen them up with a new sense of polish and focused direction, as opposed to my usual spur-of-the-moment way of doing things.
Next year will be my semi-final year of uni, so there will be a lot on my plate. This means I might have to put things on the backburner. Despite that I'll still continue to post here and there. I enjoy social media most when it feels casual, as I don't enjoy feeling obligated or forced to draw something that I'm not passionate about. I want to have fun with art, and to do that I want to do it on my own terms.
That being said, when next Supanova rolls around I should be attending again, as I had a lot of fun with this one. By then I hopefully will have re-organized my branding and overall direction.
My main, outstanding goal is this: Solidifying my identity.
Obviously you never really stop growing and changing, but I really want to knuckle down on who I am and what I want to do, both in my real life and with my art. Once I've gotten a more solid base I think everything will start to slot into place a lot easier. That's all for now though.
Tschuss.
